6. Whole Grains

  • Some amount of fat is necessary. Both you and your baby need it. You can get good fat by adding avocado to smoothie and adding nuts and olive oil to oatmeal, which are rich sources of Essential fat.
  • Bananas are a superfruit for you. It is rich in prebiotic, potassium, fiber, protein and vitamin C. You can include it in your snack.

Foods To Avoid During Breakfast

Foods to avoid when pregnant. Avoid these things in your diet, these are the foods not to eat when pregnant not only for breakfast but throughout the day.

  1. Caffeine: If you cannot start your day without caffeine, you can drink a cup of coffee or black tea in the morning.
  2. Unpasteurized dairy products: Listeria, Salmonella and other harmful bacteria are present in raw milk and soft cheeses like ricotta, feta, blue cheese etc.
  3. Sugary Food: Eating sugary cereals, cinnamon buns, yogurt with high sugar fruits, donuts etc. in the beginning of the day can increase the blood sugar level. Consuming too much of these during pregnancy increases the risk of gestational diabetes.
